oh, those glammer girls with their cardigans
worn, but not worn,
draped on soft shoulders, arms still bare
sleeves hang, waiting to be filled
like the ladies, themselves
is that what they’re trying to say?
and when they slip their arms through for
warmth
or convenience (who wants loose sleeves
hanging around, anyway)
are they too busy, too practical to be bothered
with love?
